Jarrod Lamshed is the founder and Director of ARMADA ARCHITECTS, bringing more than 20 years of architectural and design experience across Australia and internationally.
Jarrod leads the practice's design direction and provides strategic oversight across projects from early feasibility and concept design through statutory approvals, consultant coordination, documentation and construction. His experience spans Early Learning, mixed-use, commercial, medical, education and community projects, with a particular focus on resolving complex development, planning and delivery requirements.
His professional background combines architecture with practical construction and engineering experience. Jarrod initially trained in Carpentry and Joinery before studying Structural and Civil Engineering, providing an early understanding of how buildings are designed, coordinated and constructed. He subsequently completed a Master of Architecture with First Class Honours at the University of Technology Sydney, receiving a First Place Design Award for his Sydney Fish Markets masterplan proposal.
Prior to establishing Armada, Jarrod worked with leading architectural and multidisciplinary design practices in Sydney and London. His experience included commercial projects with RMJM in London, urban design and public domain projects for the City of Sydney and other NSW government organisations, and major architectural projects with PTW Architects in Sydney.
Jarrod later joined LAVA, working on significant Australian and international projects including Barangaroo waterfront residential development in Sydney, the 240m MSWCT Tower in Abu Dhabi and international masterplanning and design competitions across the Middle East and Asia Pacific.
This breadth of experience has shaped Jarrod's approach to practice: architecture must balance design quality with commercial objectives, planning requirements, technical resolution and the realities of construction.
Jarrod founded ARMADA ARCHITECTS in 2013 and today leads the practice in delivering considered, practical and commercially responsive architectural outcomes for developers, operators, property owners and organisations throughout NSW.
