DESIGN
The Mercedes-Benz Studio Martin Place was designed as a premium automotive retail and brand experience within one of Sydney CBD’s most prominent commercial locations.
Positioned at the entrance to Sydney Metro Martin Place, the studio integrates architecture, interior detailing and Mercedes-Benz brand elements within a highly visible existing commercial tenancy.
Refined materials, controlled lighting and carefully resolved detailing create a sophisticated showroom environment while maintaining a strong visual connection with the surrounding public domain.
The internal planning balances vehicle display, customer experience and operational requirements, responding to the technical constraints associated with delivering an automotive showroom within an established CBD building.
The integration of architecture, branding and detailed design creates a refined customer environment at the gateway to Martin Place Metro, reinforcing Armada Architects’ capability in premium retail and technically complex commercial interiors.
OUR ROLE
Armada Architects collaborated with leading event and experience agency RIZER to deliver detailed architectural design, statutory approvals documentation and construction support for the Mercedes-Benz Studio at Martin Place in Sydney CBD.
Located within an existing commercial tenancy at the entrance to Sydney Metro Martin Place, the project required the transformation of the space into a sophisticated automotive showroom and brand environment. Armada developed the architectural documentation required to translate the design concept into an approval-ready and buildable solution within the constraints of the existing building.
The project required careful resolution of existing building conditions, accessibility, fire safety, services coordination, vehicle display requirements and interfaces with the surrounding commercial development. Detailed architectural documentation was developed to integrate the interior design and Mercedes-Benz brand requirements while addressing the technical and statutory requirements associated with the tenancy.
Armada Architects coordinated specialist consultant inputs and prepared the architectural documentation required for the Complying Development Certificate (CDC) and construction phases. Services included detailed design, technical documentation, consultant coordination, statutory approvals, construction detailing and responsive Request for Information (RFI) support throughout delivery.
