Newmarket Facade
Based on the concept of naturally occurring patterns in nature, the Newmarket facade is an ever-changing modular system of prefabricated panels covering an area of approximately 7300m2.
ARMADA was commissioned to create a unique design concept that reflected both the human and urban scales of the site, and lead design development and authority presentations to achieve the development approvals.
The Facade allows passive ventilation of the car park levels whilst filtering light to the building’s interior to create a memorable arrival experience for visitors. Carefully controlled lighting and an optimised number of panel types allow the facade system to adapt to passive and active building uses across the numerous retail frontages.
On an urban scale the facade is ever-changing due to the layering of materials and modular geometry that manipulates daylight, to subtly reflect the surrounding city environment throughout the day, dusk and night.
